Berik Assylov was born on February 28, 1964.
Has higher legal education, graduated from Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov, on the specialization of Jurisprudence Science.
He started his professional experience in 1991 as a Trainee at the Prosecutor Office to the Alatau Region of Almaty city.
From 1992 to 2001 held the position of Chief Investigator of the Prosecutor Office of Alatau Region of Almaty city, Investigator, Chief Major Case Investigator at the Prosecutor General Office, Deputy Almaty Aviation Transport Prosecutor, Head of Supervision over Legality of Prosecutor General Office Intelligence Operations.
From 2001 to 2006 was holding managerial positions at the Prosecutor Office of South Kazakhstan Region, i.e. Prosecutor of Shymkent, Deputy, First Deputy Prosecutor of the Region.
From 2006 to 2008: Western-regional Transport Prosecutor.
From 2008 to 2010: Prosecutor of Aktobe Region.
From 2010 to 2011: Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2011 to 2017: Prosecutor of Almaty.
From 2017 to 2019 : Prosecutor of North Kazakhstan Region.
Since March 2019: First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Has a class rank of the State Judicial Counsellor 3rd Class (2011).
Awarded medal for labour achievements “Eren enbegi ushin” (2005), Full Cavalier of the Order of Labour Glory “Dank” (II Class – 2011, I Class – 2017). Awarded anniversary medals: “10 years to the Kazakhstan Constitution”, “20 years to the Kazakhstan Constitution”, “20 years to the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “20 years to the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General”, “For contribution to development of justice authorities”, "20 years to the Prosecutor Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “20 years to Astana”.
Married, parent of five children.
