Signing of interstate treaties between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Serbia (Belgrade, August 24, 2016)

The treaties with the Republic of Serbia on legal assistance in criminal matters, on extradition and on transfer of sentenced persons were signed today in the framework of  the official visit of the President Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev to Belgrade.

Prosecutor General Mr. Zhakip Assanov signed documents from Kazakh side, from the Serbian side – Minister of Justice Ms. Nella Kuburovich.

Mr. Zh. Assanov has stressed that signing of these international documents is an important step on the way to strengthen Kazakhstani-Serbian partnership in the sphere of combating crime, ensuring the legality and the rule of law, and also in protection of basic rights and interests of citizens of both countries.

Singing of those three treaties will give opportunity to create all necessary international regulatory frameworks for effective cooperation of law enforcement agencies of two countries.

During the visit Mr. Zh. Assanov held meeting with the Minister of Justice of Serbia N. Kuburovich, in which they discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest.

The heads of the agencies emphasized the solidarity of Kazakhstan and Serbia on issues of ensuring international and regional security in the context of the modern world and have expressed their interest in strengthening the relations in all directions of legal cooperation.
