Today on November 14 the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Askhat Daulbayev have visited Romania and in its framework he has conducted negotiations with the State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice of Romania Ms. Simona Maya Teodoriu.
During the meeting the sides have discussed the perspectives of further cooperation in the area of combating crime, ensuring legality and rule of law and also international security.
As a result of the meeting the sides have signed three interstate agreements between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Romania on legal assistance in criminal matters, on extradition and on transfer of convicted persons.
The head of Kazakhstan’s main supervision authority has emphasized that this is an important step for Kazakhstan in getting closer to European community, as Romania has become one of European countries to conclude the full pack of international agreements with Kazakhstan in the area of combating crime.
The sides have stressed that the accomplished agreements are supposed to strengthen the cooperation between judicial authorities of two countries and make a significant contribution in protection of constitutional rights and legal interests of Kazakhstan and Romanian citizens.
Mr. A.Daulbayev has also noted that conclusion of the mentioned agreements testifies the growing trust of the European side in the legal system of Kazakhstan, the establishment of legal mechanisms in our country that comply with the generally recognized international standards of ensuring the protection of human rights and freedoms.
During this visit, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan also has met with the Prosecutor General of Romania Mr. Tiberiu-Mihail Nitu.
The sides have exchanged views on the issues of international security and emphasized the importance of coordinated actions on prevention and suppression of transnational organized crimes.
Moreover, the sides have discussed the issues related to the implementation of the concluded agreements, exchanged information on the experience of development of supervision authorities of two countries and set the prospects of further cooperation.
