Press release on the participation of the Attorney General in the conference the International Association of Prosecutors (Sochi, November 9-11, 2015)

Prosecutor General Askhat Daulbayev took part in the work of the 7th Regional conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) to the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, held in Sochi.

The forum focused on combating terrorism and violent extremism, gathered about 200 participants from 34 countries and representatives of 9 international agencies and organizations.

At the opening ceremony were made by the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika and the President of the International Association of prosecutors Gerhard Yarosh.

In the ensuing discussion focused on topical issues of international cooperation on counteraction to the crimes connected with terrorism and violent extremism, in particular the investigation and prosecution, and international cooperation in this area.

 In the general opinion of conference participants, to ensure international and regional security, consolidation of efforts for implementation of human rights guarantees the protection of the interests of society and the state need to increase international cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral formats.

In framework of the forum were negotiations of Mr. A. Daulbayev with the General prosecutors of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, China, Mongolia, Russia, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, the Czech Republic, Iran, Cuba, South Africa as well as with the management of the IAP.

During bilateral meetings the sides exchanged views on the most important areas of cooperation in the fight against transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, cyber crime, extremism and terrorism. Also there were questions of expansion and strengthening of the legal framework, cooperation in the field of exchange of specialists and information.
