Today the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Askhat Daulbayev has met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Britain to Kazakhstan Dr. Carolyn Browne and the Liaison Officer and Regional Coordinator in Central Asia of the UK National Crime Agency Mr. Frederick Hellon.
Mr. A.Daulbayev has informed his interlocutors on the main activities of the prosecution authorities on ensuring the rule of law and countering crime.
The topical issues of bilateral cooperation in legal sphere, in particular the issues of cooperation in combating transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, cybercrime, terrorism, extremism, human trafficking as well as protection of children’s right have been discussed at the meeting. The issues of expanding contractual legal framework have also been considered.
The issue of organizing learning seminars and trainings for the staff of prosecution offices involving British leading experts has become a particular theme of the negotiations.
Mr. F.Hellon have appreciated the role of Kazakhstani prosecution authorities in implementation of international legal policy of the country and have confirmed his interest in continuing cooperation on the issues related to the overall strategic goal on ensuring international and regional security.
The sides have highlighted the importance of this meeting on further development of existing relationships between the supervisory authorities and exchange of experience in legal systems of Kazakhstan and the UK.
