Press release on the meeting of the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan with the Prosecutor General of Bulgaria (Astana, March 10, 2015)

Today the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Askhat Daulbayev has met with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Sotir Tsatsarov.

Welcoming his Bulgarian counterpart in Kazakhstan, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan has highlighted the friendly and constructive bilateral relations in the legal field.

The interlocutors have exchanged their views on the actual issues of international agenda. The heads of authorities have stressed the solidarity and unity of Kazakhstan and Bulgaria on ensuring international and regional security in the context of the modern world. The parties have emphasized the necessity to consolidate efforts to develop adequate measures on prevention of challenges and threats in the context of globalization.

During the meeting the sides have discussed the priority directions of cooperation in the legal sphere, in particular in combating crime, terrorism, extremism, cybercrime, drug trafficking, and also exchange of experience and information.

The sides have expressed their interest in deepening bilateral relations in all areas of legal cooperation, and reaffirmed their commitment to the expansion of the contractual legal framework, including the signing of an intergovernmental Treaty on the transfer of sentenced persons.

Mr. A. Daulbayev has noted that the prosecution authorities of our country pay a great attention to the development of international relations and the process of integration into the international legal community, also focusing on the priority  of strengthening cooperation with friendly state Bulgaria, which is one of the perspective countries of Europe.

The parties have noted with appreciation the current level of interaction between the competent authorities of Kazakhstan and Bulgaria in combating crime, maintenance of law and order, and have expressed their readiness to expand and develop bilateral interaction in the interests of the people of the two countries, as well as for the sake of stability and international security.
