Press release on the meeting of the Prosecutor General with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia (Astana, April 15,2015)

Today the Prosecutor General Mr. Askhat Daulbayev has held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Ghurm bin Said Al Malhan.

The meeting participants exchanged views on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, foremost, in thesphere of combating transnational organized crime and expansion of contractual-legal framework.

Mr. A.Daulbayev has informed the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia about the main directions of activity of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan and has noted that expansion of international legal cooperation, either in bilateral or in multilateral formats is one of the main components of activities of the prosecution authorities of Kazakhstan. He has also toldabout the steps being taken to ensure law and order, having stressing that the protection of human rights in criminal proceedings is of particular concern for prosecutors.

The parties have emphasized that the fight against transnational crime is one of the priority directions of activities of the authorized state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The held meeting will be another important step in achieving a higher level of cooperation between legal systems of two countries.

At the end of the meeting the Ambassador, testifying the highest respect for the Head of the Supervisory authority of our country, has expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude for the warm reception and thoughtful dialogue.
