Prosecutor General Askhat Daulbayev paid a working visit to the Swiss Confederation, where he met with the General Prosecutor Michael Lauber.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the level of accumulated cooperation, noting that there is further potential for its development. They discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including in the fight against crime.

An important topic of conversation was accession of Kazakhstan to the four conventions of the Council of Europe in the field of criminal justice. A.Daulbayev informed the Swiss party about the results achieved in the field of surveillance and advocacy activities, emphasizing that protection of human rights in criminal proceedings, obligations related to the accession of Kazakhstan to the main international treaties in the sphere of human rights are the subject of prosecutors special attention.

Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan evaluated the interest of law enforcement authorities of Kazakhstan in the establishment and development of a constructive dialogue with countries which have experience in dealing with organized and transnational crime as well as exchange of necessary information on criminal matters.  

M.Lauber praised the role of Kazakhstan prosecution service in implementation of international legal policy of the country and confirmed his intention to continue the interested cooperation on issues related to the overall strategic objectives of rule of law and regional security and coordination of efforts to jointly counteraction to challenges and threats of the modern world.
