Prosecutor General Mr.Askhat Daulbayev paid a visit to the People's Republic of China, where he had a meeting with Minister of Justice of PRC Ms.Wu Aiying.

During the meeting parties expressed their satisfaction with the level of accumulated cooperation, noting that they need to continue to work on further deepening and expanding the existing base of interaction.

Mr.Daulbayev informed the Chinese party on the results achieved in reforming of country’s legal sphere. He reported about achievements in the supervisory and human rights protection work of the prosecution in Kazakhstan, stressing that the protection of human rights in criminal proceedings is the subject of particular attention of prosecutors.

A separate topic of conversation was the issue of transfer of sentenced persons. The Parties agreed to accelerate the process of ratification of the Treaty on the transfer of sentenced persons, concluded in February 2011 and make the subsequent practical steps for its implementation. Signing of this document is relevant as of today 20 Chinese citizens are serving their sentence in Kazakhstan, and 15 citizens of Kazakhstan are serving their sentence in China.

In addition, Prosecutor General emphasized the interest of law enforcement authorities of Kazakhstan in establishing and developing a constructive dialogue with countries having experience in the fight against organized and transnational crime.

Ms.Wu Aiying commended the role of the Kazakh Prosecutor's office in the implementation of international legal policy of the country and confirmed her intention to continue the interested cooperation on issues related to the overall strategic goals of rule of law and regional security, coordination of joint efforts to counter challenges and threats of the modern world.
