Today, a bilateral meeting of the Prosecutor General Askhat Daulbayev with the US President’s Special Assistant, senior director to Russia and Eurasia in US Security Council Celeste Wallander took place.

A wide range of questions of bilateral legal cooperation, including the areas of strengthening the agreement base and mutual legal assistance in criminal law, has been discussed during the meeting.

The Parties exchanged opinions on further directions of interaction within regional security provision, countering terrorism and extremism, transnational organized crime, drugs, cybercrime and arms trade.

A.Daulbayev stated that the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in legal area is conducted rather fruitfully. The Prosecutor General’s office of Kazakhstan actively cooperates with American competent authorities in fighting crime, mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and extradition on the mutual basis. 

The parties noted that, within the framework of modern geopolitical tasks in ensuring international and regional security, the topicality of further consolidation of strengths in joint tasks to fight modern challenges arises, and expressed their readiness to further deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation.
