Today the Prosecutor General Askhat Daulbayev met with the Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany in Kazakhstan, Mr.Guido Herz.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the level of accumulated cooperation, noting that there is further potential for its development. They also discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including in the fight against crime.

A.Daulbayev informed Mr.Herz about the accomplished results in the field of supervisory and remedial activities, as well as in the field of penitentiary system reform, emphasizing that protection of human rights during criminal proceedings and well-deserved maintenance in the places of confinement and fulfillment of obligations related to the accession of Kazakhstan to the main international treaties in the sphere of human rights are the subject of prosecutors special attention.

The Prosecutor General invited the embassy staff and relevant experts from Germany to visit the places of confinement and get acquainted with the conditions of detention.

An important topic of conversation was accession of Kazakhstan to the four conventions of the Council of Europe in the field of criminal justice. At the same time, A.Daulbayev suggested to consider a possibility of conclusion of bilateral treaties in the field of legal assistance 

During the meeting a wide range of bilateral legal cooperation was discussed. The parties confirmed their interest in further expanding and strengthening areas of cooperation.
