Press release about the meeting of the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan with the President of the Venice Commission (Astana, August 29, 2013 )

Today was a meeting of the General Prosecutor Askhat Daulbayev with the President of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) Giovanni Buquicchio.

During the meeting, they discussed about the wide range of bilateral issues. The parties confirmed their interest in further developing and expanding areas of cooperation.

A.Daulbayev briefed on the main activities of the General Prosecutor's Office and noted that the expansion of international legal cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral format is one of the main activities of the prosecution’s office in Kazakhstan. He also touched on issues of reforming the law enforcement system, spoke about the work being done within the framework of the development of the new edition of the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes.

President of the Venice Commission expressed appreciation for the informative information, noting that the meeting at an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan should serve as an important step for the further development of fruitful cooperation.
