During his visit to the People’s Republic of China, Prosecutor General Askhat Daulbayev met with the Chairman of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate Mr.Cao Jianmin.

At this meeting the parties discussed the prospects of further enhancing cooperation between the prosecutors' offices of the two countries. It was noted that the visit of Kazakhstan delegation is an important step for the further development of the existing productive relations, exchange of experience in the development of legal systems.

 The main topic of the meeting was the development of bilateral cooperation in combating transnational organized crime. Mr.Daulbayev noted that crime has undergone significant changes, has become a threat to regional scale. And major tool in the fight against this evil is joining forces and searching for ways to jointly fight with the existing threats.

Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan informed his colleague about the ongoing work in Kazakhstan to combat terrorism and transnational crime, and noted that the prosecution authorities of Kazakhstan are open for constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation. He also expressed interest of law enforcement bodies of Kazakhstan in the study of experiences of the Chinese party in the fight against crime.

The Parties particularly discussed the issues of mutual legal assistance, counteraction to economical contraband, assistance in specific criminal cases, as well as in investigative activities of some criminal cases, concerned with facts of fraud and seizure of proceedings from crimes.

Mr.C.Jianmin noted, that last year Supreme People’s Procuratorate have received 16 requests for legal assistance from Kazakhstan, whereas in first quarter of 2013 they received 21 such requests. At the same time, he assured that procuratorate and other law enforcement authorities of CPR will take all necessary measures to execute international investigative requests coming from Kazakhstan.

Chairman of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate appreciated the importance of bilateral meetings on issues of cooperation and offered to maintain the dynamic of cooperation development and to make further efforts to strengthen it.
