On meeting of prosecutors general of Kazakhstan and Russia

Today in Astana within the framework of the forthcoming meeting of the Interstate Anti-Corruption Council of the CIS the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Daulbaev met with the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika.

Askhat Daulbaev warmly thanked his Russian counterpart for a visit, for the fruitful cooperation and assistance and established tradition of cooperation in the fight against crime, to jointly discuss and share their experiences of becoming the supervisory authorities of the two countries.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on topical issues of further expansion of the strategic partnership of Kazakhstan’s and Russian’s prosecutors in a single economic space. The two sides emphasized that the deepening of economic integration within the legal cooperation of the EAEC is an important consolidating factor, focusing on common strategic objectives of the rule of law and strengthening international and regional security.

Discussing the prospects of collaboration, the parties have proposed to develop and deepen forms of cooperation aimed at combating corruption, extremism and terrorism, transnational organized crime, money laundering, proceeds of crime, drug trafficking and cyber crime.

Yu. Chaika thanked for the warm welcome and expressed his willingness to continue and develop the established constructive dialogue.
