Prosecutor General Kairat Kozhamzharov met with a delegation of Germany, which arrived in Astana to give expert opinions on the German model of criminal proceedings.
In turn, K. Kozhamzharov told about the policy pursued by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to increase the level of protection of citizens ' rights in criminal proceedings, adversarial parties and reduce its repressiveness.
"In December last year, the Head of state signed a law on the modernization of law enforcement, which, according to the experience of Germany, reduced to 48 hours the period of detention, handed over to the court all the sanctions limiting human rights and introduced writ proceedings", - noted Kozhamzharov.
President of the land court of Hesse Wilhelm Wolf and Chief Prosecutor of Frankfurt Albert Schreiber crossed out the active position of Kazakhstan in the improvement of criminal and criminal-procedural legislation on the experience of OECD countries.
The Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan expressed confidence that the emerging relations between the departments will be strengthened and developed in order to further ensure the rule of law in the territories of both states.
