Bulgarian authorities have turned a wanted person over to Kazakhstan

February 7, 2019, city of Astana. Today, employees of the General Prosecutor’s Office and Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan from Bulgaria have extradited Maksim Leontyev for criminal prosecution.

The detainee is suspected that in the period from 2012 to 2017 taking advantage of his official position in "Central Azia Cement" JSC in the city of Aktau, Karaganda region, acting in collusion with a group of persons, he stole monetary assets of the company in the amount of 382 million tenge.

Leontyev managed to escape from the criminal prosecution authorities, pursuant thereto he was put on the international wanted list.

The extradition of a person became possible due to the orchestrated actions of the Kazakhstan law enforcement bodies in cooperation with Bulgarian colleagues.

Currently, the suspected person is placed in the pretrial detention facility of city of Astana.
