December 5, 2018, Astana. Today, there was a bilateral meeting of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Kozhamzharov with the Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Otabek Murodov.
The parties positively assessed the current bilateral relations in the framework of the concluded international treaties between the supervisory agencies.
Issues of cooperation in the criminal law sphere, including extradition, delivering of convicts, return of ill-gotten gains were discussed separately.
Special attention was paid to the problems of combating terrorism and religious extremism.
"Uzbekistan is our main partner in international cooperation, dozens of criminals are extradited every year, the necessary legal assistance in criminal cases is provided", K. Kozhamzharov noticed.
Over the past 2 years, 5 persons have been extradited from Uzbekistan to our country, we have extradited 127 citizens. 10 criminal cases were transferred to the Uzbek side for further criminal prosecution.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the Kazakhstan supervisory authority congratulated his colleagues on the upcoming state holiday – the day of the Constitution of Uzbekistan with the wishes of peace and prosperity.
In turn, Otabek Murodov expressed readiness to continue to develop interdepartmental cooperation.
We remind that within the framework of participation of representatives of supervisory agencies of foreign countries in the international conference "Strengthening of interregional cooperation and coordination of efforts in the fight against organized crime" in Astana, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan K. Kozhamzharov held a number of bilateral meetings.
