December 5, 2018, Astana. Today the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Kozhamzharov held a bilateral meeting with the Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Otkurbek Dzhamshitov.
The colleagues discussed the aspects of strengthening interdepartmental cooperation and expanding the legal framework.
The constructive relations in the issues of combating transnational crime, extremism and terrorism, as well as joint efforts to return stolen assets were positively evaluated.
"The coordinated confidential actions allow to solve the issues of implementation of the Chisinau Convention on Legal Assistance in Criminal Cases quickly and without red tape", Kairat Kozhamzharov emphasized.
For his part, Mr. Otkurbek Dzhamshitov noted the cooperation achieved in the field of transfer of convicts.
Over the past 2 years, 11 wanted persons have been extradited from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan, 17 citizens have been extradited to the Kyrgyz side.
During the same period, Kazakhstan transferred to Kyrgyzstan 19 of their convicted citizens, our country issued 3 Kazakhstani citizens.
Aspects of cooperation in the field of combating terrorist organizations and their financing were separately discussed.
The Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan assured the foreign colleague of readiness for further expansion of bilateral relations.
We recall that within the framework of participation of representatives of supervisory agencies of foreign countries in the international conference "Strengthening of interregional cooperation and coordination of efforts in the fight against organized crime" in Astana, Prosecutor General K. Kozhamzharov held a number of bilateral meetings.
