About the visit of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Principality of Monaco (Monte Carlo, March 5, 2015)

The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Askhat Daulbayev paid a visit to the Principality of Monaco, in the framework of which there were held negotiations with the Chairman of the State Council, Chairman of the Supreme Court, Minister of Justice of the Principality of Monaco Mr. Philippe Narmino.

During the meeting the sides discussed the topical issues of bilateral cooperation in combating crime, money laundering, ensuring the rule of law and international security.

The meeting resulted in the signing of an intergovernmental Treaty between Kazakhstan and the Principality of Monaco on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Askhat Daulbayev paid a visit to the Principality of Monaco, in the framework of which there were held negotiations with the Chairman of the State Council, Chairman of the Supreme Court, Minister of Justice of the Principality of Monaco Mr. Philippe Narmino.

During the meeting the sides discussed the topical issues of bilateral cooperation in combating crime, money laundering, ensuring the rule of law and international security.

The meeting resulted in the signing of an intergovernmental Treaty between Kazakhstan and the Principality of Monaco on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
The Treaty was concluded in order to implement the Joint Declaration adopted at the meeting of the President of Kazakhstan and the Prince of Monaco Albert II in 2012, where the parties agreed to work together to strengthen international security.

The sides noted with appreciation that the reached agreements urged to strengthen cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of two countries and to make an important contribution to the protection of constitutional rights and legitimate interests of citizens of Kazakhstan and Monaco.

As there were noted by the head of the main supervisory authority of Kazakhstan, it is important step towards rapprochement with the European community.  The Principality of Monaco became one more European country with which Kazakhstan signed the Treaty in the field of fight against crime. The event is testimony of the growing confidence in the legal system of Kazakhstan, the creation of legal mechanisms that meet international standards to guarantee the protection of rights and freedoms.

The interlocutors discussed the next steps in the implementation of the Treaty and highlighted the importance of coordinated actions to prevent and combat transnational organized crime.The Treaty was concluded in order to implement the Joint Declaration adopted at the meeting of the President of Kazakhstan and the Prince of Monaco Albert II in 2012, where the parties agreed to work together to strengthen international security.
