Today in the framework of the visit to Belarus there was held a trilateral meeting of prosecutor generals of Kazakhstan Mr. Askhat Daulbayev, Russia Mr. Yury Chaika and Alexander Konyuk.
The parties have discussed the topical issues of cooperation in context of the common economic space, in particular, the issues associated with the turnover of consumer goods, illegal importation and registration of vehicles, combating crimes in the sphere of illegal VAT reimbursement, as well as the creation of the expert group on decision-making issues in the framework of activities of Eurasian Union.
The interlocutors have stressed that in the context of economic integration strengthening of cooperation of the supervisory authorities of the EAEU countries is a main consolidating factor aimed at the common strategic goal for ensuring the legality, combating transnational crime, strengthening stability in the region.
The Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Mr. Askhat Daulbayev has also participated at the first organizational meeting of the Interstate Council on Combating Corruption, which has been held in Minsk today. The forum was attended by the representatives of the competent authorities of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan.
During the meeting there has been extensive discussion regarding the improvement of legal mechanisms on prevention and suppression of corruption, elimination of its consequences.
Interstate Council on Combating Corruption is a body branch cooperation of the CIS, which was established by the heads of 6 States (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan). The Council provides the organization and coordination of measures on combating corruption, including promoting convergence and harmonization of national anti-corruption legislation, information sharing, and strengthening cooperation between the competent authorities of the member States.
