Today the First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Iogan Merkel held a meeting with the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic Ms. Lyudmila Usmanova in Taraz.
The talks were also attended by the heads of cross-border prosecution authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
The sides discussed the issues on transfer of the sentenced persons, the consolidation of efforts and searching the joint solutions in the fight against illegal migration, and also on strengthening transboundary cooperation.
During the negotiations Mr. I.Merkel emphasized the conducted activities in transfer of convicted persons for further serving of punishment in the country of their citizenship, the expansion of bilateral and multilateral legal base.
The parties underlined special importance of interaction between bordering regions of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in ensuring regional security, the fight against transnational organized crime, and expressed their willingness to further strengthen bilateral relations.
