The Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan have signed a number of agreements with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan

November 2, 2017, Astana. On November 1st, 2017, within the framework of the official visit of the King of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ayman Hussein As-Safadi signed intergovernmental agreements in the field of combating crime.

Kazakhstan's Prosecutor General met with UN representative

October 30, 2017, Astana. The Prosecutor General’s Office hosted a meeting of the Prosecutor General Zhakyp Assanov with Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, Director-General of the United Nations Office in Vienna, and Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Yury Fedotov.

During the meeting, the Prosecutor General thanked the UN Office for supporting initiatives of Kazakhstan on the global arena, and stressed the role of the Office in the fight against international terrorism.

The Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan held a meeting with the chairman of the Supreme Court and the Prosecutor General of Turkey

October 23, Astana. Тhe Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan held a meeting with the chairman of the Supreme Court and the Prosecutor General of Turkey.

Greeting the Turkish colleagues, Zh. Asanov noted the friendly and constructive nature of bilateral relations in the legal sphere.

During the conversation, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan informed the Turkish side about the main directions of activity of the prosecutor’s office of Kazakhstan, as well as on the ongoing work to expand and strengthen the contractual and legal framework.

General Prosecutor’s Office approved new rules for reception of citizens

Since October 9 of the current year the new rules (hereinafter - the Rules) for the personal admission of physical persons and representatives of legal authorities by officials of the prosecution officer are in force.

According to the Rules, the senior management of the General Prosecutor’s Office,  the Regional Prosecutor’s Offices and equated to them offices’ reception will be done by appointment.

The problem of optimization and digitalization of criminal and administrative processes have been discussed during Coordination Council of the General Prosecutor Office

October 12, 2017 Astana. During the Coordinating Council on the Rule of Law, Order of Justice and Combating Crime (hereinafter - the Council) the General Prosecutor Office discussed measures of further optimization and digitization criminal and administrative processes.

As is known, on behalf of the Head of State the work on modernization of the criminal process is beind done in the country.

Opening the meeting, the Prosecutor General briefly focused on the advantages of pilot projects initiated by the General Prosecutor Office.

Deputy Prosecutor General talk about measures to protect business

25 September, Astana. Deputy Prosecutor General Marat Akhmetzhanov participated in V Forum of Mechanicians of Kazakhstan. The main topics were the issues on cooperation between the state and the quasi-public sectors, reduction of the administrative barriers and further prospects of development of the domestic engineering.

Deputy Prosecutor General acquainted the Forum participants with the measures taken by GP Office to establish safe and comfortable conditions for setting business.

The Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the General Prosecutor Office and Astana International Financial Centre

The General  Prosecutor of Kazakhstan, Mr Zhakyp Asanov, the Astana International Financial Centre  (hereinafter - Center) Governor,  Mr. Kairat Kelimbetov, and the Rt. Hon. The Lord Woolf  CH, former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The document defines main areas of cooperation between  the General Prosecutor Office, the Centre and the AIFC Court which will be operating in accordance with principles of English law and the standards of leading international financial centres.
